Attendance • Technology Use Guidelines for Students • Bullying • Dress Code •
Drugs in Schools • Lost, Broken, Destroyed, or Unreturned School Property • Sex Offender Registry • Weapons
Personal Communication Devices (Cellphones)
For middle school students (grades 6-8), the use of cell phones and/or PECDs is prohibited during the bell-to-bell school day. Devices must be turned off and stored as defined in this regulation at all times while in school. Devices may be used after school and on the bus. Each middle and high school student will be assigned a cell phone and/or PECD storage pouch. Pouches will have a number that is assigned to the student.
There is no opt-out for the pouch. Students who do not wish to use the pouch are not permitted to carry a cell phone and/or PECD at school and must leave it at home or in a vehicle. There is a verification form to acknowledge they will have no cell phone and/or PECD in their possession during the bell-to-bell instructional day that must be signed by the student and parent/guardian, who must acknowledge the student does not have a cell phone and/or PECD at school.

Instruction
Canvas is the Learning Management System our district uses to deliver digital instruction.
- Families can become Canvas Observers:
- You will need a Pairing Code for every student you want to observe in Canvas.
- Once you are an observer in one class, you will be an observer in all classes - present and future!

Grades
The parent portal is an online portal accessible anywhere on the web that parents can log in to and see all of their children in one place, their grades, assignments, scores, attendance, schedules, and school bulletins for each school your children attend.
Please reach out to our Main Office to receive your Student Access ID / Access Password in order to create an account.
Report cards will be issued at nine-week intervals on the 5th day following the last day of the previous nine weeks period. Final report cards will be issued to students on the last day of school or mailed home.
Students will be issued interims digitally only at the fourth and seventh weeks of the grading period. Families will use the Parent Portal application to view student progress. BCPS will send notice to families that grades are updated and ready to view at the fourth and seventh week of the grading period.
